Random Thoughts

Now that Funny Girl is over, I've had a lot more time to myself. I've been able to get the house clean, do my laundry, write my friends who are on missions, be a friend, do things with friends, and start to get in the habit of writing in my blog.

I've been thinking a lot lately about marriage and proposition 8. While most of the left-wing radicals accept gay men and women, it's hard for those right-winged Conservatives. They see marriage between two men or women as sick, wrong, family-destroying, and ultimately the death of society.

In my opinion, everyone should have the right to get married and be married to whomever they choose. If that is two men or two women, they have that right. So, congratulations Brandon and Michael and also Daniel and Michael. I am sure that you will be very happy together.

Why do I bring this up? Not sure. It's just something that has been on my mind.

Next topic of discussion: My parents now know about my blog, which maybe has been the reason why I have been blog-scared for a while. Mom and Dad, thanks for reading. I hope my ideas and crazyness don't offend you! JK I love you both!

Also, every time I have a "spiritual awakening" of sorts, my desire to have a wife and children is always augmented. I still continue to do what I believe to be right for myself and my specific situation, but the more I deeply think about getting married, the more I tend to not think that that may be the right thing in my life. Who knows? I'm only 23 years old (soon to be 24) and I don't need to get married by tomorrow. To anybody; man or woman. I like being single right now. And that suits me just fine for the time being.

In addition, I am so excited for Fall Semester to start. Working full time sucks. I can't wait until I'm a teacher so I can have a summer vacation and not work. That's gonna be awesome.

That is all.

I'm Baaack!

Dear Friends,

I'm back! I have my life back!

"Funny Girl" officially closed it doors last night to a crowd of over 1,200 people. When we opened with just under 45, we never thought that our little local community theatre revival of a classic musical would be so popular. I guess that's why Broadway has decided to bring it back for keepsies in 2012.

I know that some of you came to see the show...I just never got to see you guys. I hope you enjoyed every second of it. I know I did.

Last night was a hard night for me. When Bethany S. (Fanny Brice) took her final bow and as we joined her, we all shed tears of joy. We became a very close cast after two months of grueling rehearsal. It may have been the closest I have ever been to a cast. We worked hard, we played hard, and it paid off in the end.

Now, I have my life back. I don't know what to do with myself. It's only been one day, and I'm already bored! I watched a pretty scary movie tonight, ordered pizza, washed the dishes, cleaned my room, and kind of just...sat around.

The SCERA is going to open it's Fall Season with "Hairspray". I really want to audition for the part of Edna, Tracy's mom. But, I just realized that rehearsals and performances would be when I have class. Since I still am going to work at SC, I plan on taking early morning and evening classes, most of which don't end until 7:00 PM. I don't know if I could leave class, get to the theatre and get into costume in less than 10 minutes (assuming I get cast and assuming I audition).

I just feel like I have to use the talents and gifts that God has given me at every opportunity I get, and I feel that if I don't audition for this show, I won't be using my talents.

However, I was talking to Nicole and she said, "If you don't audition, you should at least pray to have other opportunities to share your talents with others. Or at least have chances to feel like you are strengthening them."

I think that's what I'm gonna do.

Well...dear friends, I just wanted to give you a quick update as to what is happening in my life.

I'm back to blogging full time!

I'm alive!

Hey friends!

I know I haven't posted in a while. Funny Girl has taken every ounce of free time that I have away from me. We have been rehearsing and performing every night for the last month and a half. I feel like I have neglected this blog, which I have.

The show is going really well. Last night, we had to call the show because it was very cold and raining. Instead, the cast went to Applebee's and we celebrated the birthday of one of our castmates. He was turning 20 and he was very excited. It was a good experience for everyone that was there. We sang "Happy Birthday" in perfect harmony, complete with a key change. The whole restaurant was very impressed.

However, right before I got to the restaurant, I had to call 911. Yup. You read that correctly.

Nicole D. and I were in her car on 800 S and State ST in Orem on our way to Applebee's. The roads were wet and slippery. We were headed west and were stopped at a red light. Then, in front of us, a red car slammed into a green compact and spun the green car around twice. Each revolution, the green car got closer and closer to ours. It stopped about three inches from Nicole's bumper. I immediately pulled out my cell phone and called 911. In about one minute, everyone was there. Police, ambulance, fire trucks, you name it.

Nicole consoled an elderly woman while I talked to the police and made sure everyone was alright. They took down our information and we headed to the restaurant. On our way there, we asked for Heavenly Father to bless those who were injured in the accident and to bless us. We were frazzled!

But, life goes on.

Furthermore, this Nicole is a wonderful girl. She has blazing red hair and a wonderful smile. She served a mission in the Mesa Arizona Mission and even served in my stake! I was on my mission when she was serving, so I wouldn't have known her. She said she wants to live in Arizona when she gets married.

I think I may ask her out on a date.

Advice?
